What Type of Leader Are You?

In this episode, Tim details the different kinds of leaders and how they communicate with their peers and employees. Communication is very important in any organization or workplace. A great leader needs good communication skills in order to voice concerns and important information to their peers. If there is no effective communication, the entity or organization being led by the leader will not reach its maximum potential. Tim will be sharing essential information about the 7 different kinds of leaders. Use this episode to learn and figure out what kind of leader you want to be.

2:36 – 1) Autocratic Style is simply, do as I say. 

10:26 – 2) Authoritative Style is more of a follow me style. The leaders who map the way and set expectations while engaging followers along the way. 

13:27 – 3) Pace Setting Style is, do as I do. The leader sets the pace for the whole team and expects the team to roll at the same pace. 

16:57 – 4) Democratic Style is when the leader wants to get some input from the team. 

18:29 – 5) Coaching Style is when the leader has an open heart for people to lead, it provides a little direction to help the team tap into their individual ability to level up. 

20:09 – 6) Affiliate Style is when the leader gets up close and personal to the people they’re leading. The leader knows about what’s going on in their personal lives. 

24:04 – 7) Laissez Faire involves the least amount of oversight. It allows the team to go with the flow. 

30:04 As you identify what type of leader you are, be sure to also have effective communication, knowing that you are leading people in whatever capacity you are leading in.
