Relationships, Engagement And Leadership in Corporate Spaces With Nick Dillon the Believe Coach

On this episode of Communication Guru podcast, your host, Tim McMurtry II welcomes Nicholas Dillon, an empowerment expert, a licensed therapist in Leadership/Organizational Consultant providing services in diversity and inclusion, leadership development, management consulting, HR consulting, and personal coaching. He is also the founder of the Believe University. Nick shares from his vast experience in education and training about his journey for believing, struggles, bullying, trauma, growth and leadership.

Episode highlights:

06:10 - The journey for believing for me started as a youngster being born with a respiratory condition, premature, and … 53 years later, I’m still here, so we praise God for that.

14:15 – We teach children lessons and life lessons, and things of that nature, and we talk… but your objective really is to plant in them the seeds that allow for decision making. - I would challenge them to think in terms of decision making, because whether they are six or sixteen, it’s still a choice.

18:00 – We push the tangibles – education, connections… as the roadmap to success, and we push the drive to success and the need to be successful based on external things. But it actually starts with you.  It starts with personal acceptance.

24:07 – Leadership is always going to be an influence, positive influence.

32:45 – Three things I have learned over the years: 1) Get rid of the head trash; 2) You do not have to believe everything you think; 3) Knowing that getting up each and every day with the mindset of just simply adding value to others matters. Be mindful that you communicate verbally and you communicate nonverbally.
